Denver Broncos Merchandise

Denver Broncos Merchandise

Most NFL teams can point to one or two decades in which they've excelled.  Since entering the NFL in 1970, the Denver Broncos have posted impressive results in all four decades.  Along the way, they've made 17 playoff appearances, captured 10 division titles, earned six conference championships and won two Super Bowls.  The Broncos were a charter member of the American Football League in 1960, and while they enjoyed little success, they did win the first-ever AFL game (over the Patriots in 1960) and became the first AFL team to defeat an NFL team (over the Lions in a 1967 preseason game).  Running back Floyd Little was the star of this era.  Denver began fielding strong teams in the mid-1970s, garnering its first AFC West Division crown in 1977 under coach Red Miller.  A punishing defense was anchored by end Lyle Alzado, linebacker Randy Gradishar and cornerback Louis Wright, while quarterback Craig Morton piloted a steady offense.  As a rookie quarterback, John Elway guided the Broncos to a playoff berth in 1983 and 13 victories in 1984.  Receiver Steve Watson and running back Sammy Winder each enjoyed 1,000-yard seasons the latter year, and the AFC's top defense included linebacker Karl Mecklenburg and safety Dennis Smith.  The Broncos (5-11 in 1990) staged the most dramatic improvement in team history in 1991, posting a 12-4 mark under coach Dan Reeves.  During the mid-1990s, Denver remained a power as the offense added tight end Shannon Sharpe and wide receiver Anthony Miller, as well as running back Terrell Davis.  Mike Shanahan became the Broncos head coach before the 1995 season, and a year later he guided Denver to 13 regular-season wins and an AFC West title.  Denver won back-to-back Super Bowls (XXXII and XXXIII) and qualified for the playoffs four times in six years (2000-05).

If there's one thing Minnesota Vikings fans have been able to count on through the decades

If there's one thing Minnesota Vikings fans have been able to count on through the decades, it's playoff football.  The Vikings have made 25 post-season appearances since 1968 when they claimed the first of their 17 division titles, and competed in four Super Bowls.  Fans knew there was something special about this franchise when the Vikings upset Chicago 37-13 in 1961 at Metropolitan Stadium in their first NFL game.  Fran Tarkenton came off the bench to pass for four touchdowns in the game that jump-started this new team.  Minnesota enjoyed its first winning season in 1964 (8-5-1), captured the Western Conference's Central Division in 1968 and enjoyed a 12-game winning streak in 1969 on the way to an NFL championship and its first Super Bowl berth.  In 1971, Alan Page became the first defensive player named the league's MVP, and four years later Tarkenton earned the same award.  Following the 1976 season, the Vikings advanced to the Super Bowl for the third time in four years, all under head coach Bud Grant. Claiming the division crown for the sixth consecutive year and 10th time in 11 seasons in 1978, Minnesota captured another division crown in 1980, then moved into the Metrodome in 1982.  Tarkenton and Page were inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1986 and 1988, respectively.  The 1998 club under coach Dennis Green established a franchise record with 15 wins, but a devastating overtime loss to Atlanta in the NFC championship contest ended the dream season.  The Vikings came back to win the division in 2000, advancing to the conference title game for the second time in three years. Quarterback Daunte Culpepper set an NFL record in 2004 by amassing 5,123 total yards and threw a team-record 39 TD passes.  In 2008, Adrian Peterson rushed for an NFL-high 1,760 yards to lead Minnesota to its 17th division crown.

Shop for Dallas Cowboys merchandise, Dallas Cowboys gifts and Dallas Cowboys memorabilia at the HighlandMint.com

One of the most successful franchises in NFL history, the Dallas Cowboys have appeared in eight Super Bowls - tied for first with the Pittsburgh Steelers.  The Cowboys won five of those games, tied with the San Francisco 49ers for second most Super Bowl wins in NFL annals.  Dallas has also earned 21 division titles and made 30 playoff appearances through the 2011 season.  Tom Landry, one of the winningest coaches in professional football history, led the club to two Super Bowl victories during the 1970s (VI and XII), with teams starring safety Mel Renfro, quarterback Roger Staubach and the famed Doomsday Defense.  Other Dallas standouts during this period included several future Hall of Fame members, including running back Tony Dorsett and wide receivers Tony Hill and Drew Pearson.  On defense, end Ed "Too Tall" Jones and tackle Randy White, also a future Hall of Famer, were two of the era's most feared pass-rushers.  The team won three Super Bowls in a four-year span during the early to mid-1990s, with lineups featuring quarterback Troy Aikman, running back Emmitt Smith and wide receiver Michael Irvin.  The Cowboys qualified for the postseason in 1999 for the ninth time in 10 years.  Dallas also made it into the playoffs in 2003 (10-6), 2006 (9-7), 2007 (13-3) and 2009 (11-5), but won only one playoff game.  Quincy Carter passed for 3,302 yards for the 2003 team.  In 2006, Julius Jones rushed for 1,084 yards, Terry Glenn and Terrell Owens combined for 2,227 receiving yards, DeMarcus Ware recorded 11.5 sacks, and Roy Williams made five interceptions.  Tony Romo passed for 4,211 yards and 36 TDs, Jason Witten and Owens combined for 2,500 yards receiving and 22 TDs, Greg Ellis and Ware combined for 26.5 sacks, and Anthony Henry and Ken Hamlin combined for 11 interceptions in 2007.  The 2009 team featured Romo (4,483 yards passing), Miles Austin and Witten (combined 2,350 receiving yards), Ware (11 sacks), and Mike Jenkins (5 interceptions).

New England Patriots Store | New England Patriots Shop | Patriots Merchandise

Since the turn of the century, the New England Patriots have been the NFL's most dominant team.  The Pats produced a 134-42 regular-season record from 2001 to 2011, winning nine AFC East Division titles, and compiled a 16-6 mark in the postseason, including three wins in five Super Bowl appearances.  A charter member of the American Football League in 1960, the then-Boston Patriots captured an Eastern Division championship in 1963, with quarterback Babe Parilli, fullback Larry Garron and cornerback Bob Suci leading the way.  Twenty-two years later, New England (11-5) earned its first AFC championship before bowing to Chicago in Super Bowl XX.  Standouts included quarterback Tony Eason, halfback Craig James, wide receiver Stanley Morgan and guard John Hannah.  The team made four playoff appearances between 1994 and '98, with signal-caller Drew Bledsoe leading the NFL in passing yards (4,555) in '94, running back Curtis Martin pacing the AFC in rushing yards (1,487) in '95 and Ty Law topping the league in interceptions (9) in '98.  The Patriots captured the 1996 AFC championship before falling to Green Bay in Super Bowl XXXI.  Named head coach in 2000, Bill Belichick quickly built a dynasty.  Quarterback Tom Brady led the Pats to the 2001 AFC crown and a victory over St. Louis in Super Bowl XXXVI, then earned Super Bowl MVP honors for the second time in three years when New England defeated Carolina in Super Bowl XXXVIII.  In 2004, the Patriots won their third NFL crown in four years, knocking off Philadelphia in Super Bowl XXXIX on the strength of game MVP Deion Branch's 133 receiving yards.  New England completed the first-ever 16-0 regular-season campaign in 2007 - losing Super Bowl XLII to the New York Giants - then extended their NFL-record regular-season winning streak to 21 games in 2008. New England fell to the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI following the 2011 season.

Pittsburgh Steelers Merchandise and Pittsburgh Memorabilia

Pittsburgh Steelers Merchandise and Pittsburgh Memorabilia

When it comes to the Super Bowl, there's no team that can match the Pittsburgh Steelers.  They recorded their record-setting sixth Super Bowl victory in 2009, edging the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII.  It marked the Steelers' sixth Super Bowl win in seven appearances.  Pittsburgh is one of four teams in the AFC North Division.  Originally called the Pirates, the Steelers wear uniforms of black and gold.  The team, which formerly played at Three Rivers Stadium, now calls Heinz Field its home.  The Pittsburgh Pirates football team was founded in 1933 by Art Rooney, who named the team after the Steel City's National League baseball team.  The two franchises shared Pittsburgh's Forbes Field, with the football team changing its name to Steelers in 1940.  In the 1970s, head coach Chuck Noll put together a well-balanced offense starring quarterback Terry Bradshaw, running back Franco Harris, center Mike Webster, and wide receivers John Stallworth and Lynn Swann, all of whom are in the Hall of Fame.  The defense, known as the Steel Curtain because it closed tightly on opposing offenses, featured future Hall of Fame linebackers Jack Ham and Jack Lambert; defensive backs Mel Blount and Donnie Shell; and linemen Joe Greene, L. C. Greenwood, and Dwight White.  Fielding the AFC's top-rated defense, the Steelers triumphed in Super Bowls IX, X, XIII and XIV.  Bill Cowher was hired as head coach in 1992 and built solid teams in the early 1990s leading to an appearance in Super Bowl XXX.  The 2005 Steelers (still under Cowher) and the 2008 squad (under coach Mike Tomlin), returned to the limelight for Super Bowls XL and XLIII, winning both with standout players including quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, wide receivers Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes, and running backs Jerome Bettis and Willie Parker.
