Miami Heat

Miami Heat

Denied the NBA crown in 2011, the Miami Heat would not be denied again. The Heat won three consecutive home games over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2012 NBA Finals to capture its second crown with a four games-to-one triumph. Leading the way for Miami were LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. After acquiring James prior to the 2010-11 season, the Heat advanced to the Finals, where it was outlasted by the Dallas Mavericks four games to two. Miami won its first NBA title in 2006. The Heat's 4-2 NBA Finals win over Dallas marked the first time since 1977 that a team had rallied from a 2-0 deficit to capture the league crown. The amazing comeback featured a dramatic Game 3 win, a 43-point effort from Finals MVP Wade during a 101-100 overtime victory in Game 5, and a 95-92 triumph in Game 6 following a rally from 14 points down. Miami had secured a playoff spot in only its fourth season (1991-92) and returned to postseason play only two years later. A blockbuster trade in 1995 brought Alonzo Mourning to Miami, and the center responded by leading the league in scoring and rebounds. The Heat produced a franchise-best 61-21 record in 1996-97 and won the division title and two playoff series. Mourning was named the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season in 1999-2000 as the Heat claimed another division title. After a couple of sub-par seasons, the Heat returned to the playoffs in 2003-04 with rookie Wade sparking the team. In 2004, center Shaquille O'Neal joined Miami, which posted a 59-23 record and took two playoff series before bowing out in the Eastern Conference finals. The Highland Mint produces a wide variety of Miami Heat products licensed by the NBA, including PhotoMints, Coins, Coin Cards, Etched Acrylics, Ornaments and Keychains.
